Frequently Asked Questions

Q : What is your style?

Feminine, emotive, and constantly evolving.

Q : How long have you been shooting?

I’ve been taking pictures since I was in high school (we’re not going to talk about what year that was).  My first camera was a 35mm SLR Pentax K1000.  I’ve always been the girl with the camera or the girl who develops the film.

Q : Okay, so how long have you been shooting weddings?

I shot my first wedding in 2005, officially. One day I will sit down and figure out the exact number, but it is around 20 a year.  Yes, I know there are other photographers who have shoot more than that every year.  I feel that photographing a wedding is a gift and  I know that I am being trusted with a day that can never be redone or replaced.  I have photographed weddings with only a bride and groom as well as a 3 day ceremony with over 700 guests.  I can’t imagine any wedding or situation that could make me feel intimidated.

Q : What kind of camera do you use and do you have a back up camera?

I shoot with 2 full frame Nikons.  A D810 and D700  DSLR professional body and multiple prime and fixed aperture lenses.  I use Nikon speed-lights and Paul C. Buff portable studio lighting (alien bees).   If you know a little bit about photography equipment or have questions, I am more than happy to discuss my gear and technical style in more detail.  Just ask 🙂

Q : Do you have a studio?

I do not own a studio, but I have several studios around the Atlanta area that I use on a regular basis depending on the mood of the shoot.  Generally I prefer natural lighting, but I still got mad studio skills.

Q : Are you willing to travel?

Yes.  Yes.  And YES!  I love traveling.  Chances are if I get to go somewhere awesome AND take awesome pictures, I’ll be the happiest girl in the world.  I do not have a set fee for traveling.  It depends on the time and location and many other tiny details.

Q : Would you be  photographing other events on the same day as mine?

Never.  Ever.

Q : Is it okay if other people take photos while you’re taking photos?

I do no mind.  It does not interfere with my lights.  If you have guest that is compromising the quality of your images I would professionally ask you to speak with them or ask your permission to speak with them myself.

Q : Can I customize a package based on my needs?

Yes, everyone gets a customized package.

Q : Do you include engagement photos in your packages?

I prefer it that way.  It gives us a chance to work together and for you to get comfortable being photographer.

Q: What type of album designs do you offer? Do you provide any assistance in creating an album?

I do not offer prints or albums at this time.  I can refer you to someone who could provide assistance if needed.

Q: Do you provide retouching, color adjustment or other corrective services?

Yes, of course.  For around 40-80 hours 🙂

Q : Do you take credit cards?

No, at this time I do not.  I am willing to set up payment plan under certain circumstances

Q : Will I receive a written contract?

YES.

Q : How much of a deposit do you require and when is it due?

$250 Non refundable deposit due at contract signing.  Remaining amount due two weeks prior to wedding date or cash day of.

Q : What is your refund/cancellation policy?

The deposit is non refundable.

Q:  Do you have liability insurance?

Yes.

Jarrod Katch - Hi Tress,

I wanted to reach out to speak with you about potentially covering my wedding on 4/22/17 at Rocky’s Lake Estate in Woodstock. My fiancee (Eryn) and I are getting married on our 11th “anniversary” and as we love your photos, we hope that you’d be able to be a part of our special day. Do you happen to have standard collections and pricing? I know that each wedding is unique and has differing needs, but I just wanted to see if you’d fall within our price range. We’re looking for ~10 hours of day of coverage, the engagement session that you said you included in your FAQ, an online gallery, image rights. Thanks for your assistance!
